Dear Bible Quiz Leaders:
We trust you
are having a wonderful Bible quizzing season and that you are looking forward
to participating in the exciting conclusion to this season at our Bible Quiz
Finals at Seattle Pacific University in Seattle, WA. The registration forms are available as Adobe PDF files from the links above. These forms must be
received at Seattle Pacific University by May 7, 2002.
Dates: Registration will
be Tuesday afternoon, June 25. Please
note there will not be any meals served on Tuesday night. The closing awards banquet will be at noon
on Saturday, June 29. Everyone will be
free to head toward home Saturday afternoon.
Saturday lodging at SPU will be available at an additional cost. See Additional Housing Form.
Forms: There are four registration forms: a payment form,
a housing form, a team form, and an individual competition form. All these need to be mailed to Seattle
Pacific University with your payment by May 7, 2002. Also, a completed medical form for
everyone in your group (quizzers, adults, children) must accompany these
forms.
Refunds:
There will be no refund of fees.
Housing and Meals: Registration for quizzers and adults
is $165.00 for the four nights, eleven meals including banquet, t-shirt, and
evening activities. (None of this cost
goes toward quizzing expenses, which are covered by the team
registration.) This year all
participants will be lodging on campus. SPU will provide sheets, blankets, towels
and pillows.
Children: Rates for non-quizzing children ages 12
and under who sleep on the floor in their parent’s room are $50 for ages four
and above, and free for three and under. Non-quizzing students over 12 will pay
the full amount. There will be no
childcare provided.
Team Quizzing:
Each team registration will be $150.
This cost covers the quizmaster expense, Quiz Finals expense, and the
money it takes to run the quiz program through the year. We may run up to eight divisions, with an A and
a B level in each division. Please mark
the appropriate division for each of your teams on your team form. (We reserve the right to move teams from A
to B, or from B to A, based on their performance during the season,
particularly after 16 teams have already registered for a division.) Remember that in order to be a rookie team, the team can have only one
experienced quizzer. If a team has two
quizzers who have each quizzed at least one half of a year before this quiz
season, then they must be a veteran team.
(6th grade and under does not count toward this experience.)
Junior
Quizzing: We are planning a one-day event for junior
teams from the Seattle area.
Registration for junior competition will be separate from this
registration for Quiz Finals.
Combined/Merged/Special Team Consideration: Any coach wishing to register a team that is
not made up of members as defined by the rulebook must contact one of the
Denominational Directors before registering such a team. This includes teams made up of quizzers who
do not all attend the same church, teams that have quizzers under 6th
grade, and many other possible scenarios which may occur. Quizzers without teams can attend and be
placed on a “pooled” team of like quizzers, but must quiz in a “B” level
division.
Individual Competition:
Please register quizzers for individual competition. The cost is $5.00 each. In the top Senior Teen Veteran individual
division, scholarships to any Free Methodist College will be awarded in the
amounts of $2000 for 1st, $1750 for 2nd, and $1500 for 3rd
place.
Quiz Seats are needed. Approved Quizmasters
will be contacted directly concerning their participation in Quiz Finals, after
the Denominational Directors have received recommendations from the Conference
and Regional directors. Selected
approved staff will not be charged.
QUIC (QUizmasters Including Coaches) team quizzing will be over
I Corinthians 12-15 along with the quotes from those chapters. There will also be QUIC Individual quizzing over the same material. We would encourage all coaches and
quizmasters to get a team together to enjoy the fellowship and learn what it is
like to study with your quizzers.
Shuttle Service:
Shuttle Express at SEA/TAC International Airport will pick you up at the
airport and bring you directly to the campus.
The rate from the airport to SPU is:
One Person- $21 |

Six People - $41 |
Seven People - $46 |
No More than 7 per shuttle. |

Other items: Saturday at noon there will be a
dress-up awards banquet. There will
also be several activities in the evenings including recreational activities
and open gym time.
Remember: Mail all forms (including all
medical forms for each person in your group) and your payment to Seattle
Pacific University. It must be received
by May 7, 2002. Teams that are late may be forfeited from the event. Please keep a copy of the registration forms
