2006 BIBLE QUIZ FINALS HELD AT SPRING ARBOR UNIVERSITY

After having studied Romans and James this past year, about 600 youth Bible
quizzers and coaches on 108 teams from around the United States gathered at
Spring Arbor University in Spring Arbor, Michigan on June 26-30, 2006 for
the Free Methodist Bible Quiz Finals. The team from Anderson (Wesley), IN
was crowned grand champion for winning the Senior Teen Veteran A division.

Chapel services were a great time of spiritual encouragement and challenge,
and the speakers included Bishop David Kendall and Dr. Chuck White.  Five
persons (who have lived godly lives as they have applied the scripture they
learned through quizzing) were inducted into the Bible Quizzing Hall of
Fame: Greg Fields (McPherson, KS); Steve Gray (Seattle, WA); Lyle & Dawn
McCoon, Sr (Clarkston, MI); and Jim Setty (Monee, IL).  The college music
team "Wellspring" provide uplifting music for the worship experiences.

Many of the teens testified to God's working in their lives as this past
year they have studied the scriptures.  During the communion / testimony
service, quizzers testified about how God had worked in their lives this
season. Approximately 50 youth had memorized all of Romans and James this
past year.  In one service, an offering of over $1,700 was received to help
with the development of Bible quizzing in other countries.

Spring Arbor University provided many special activities for the quizzers,
and arranged a fantastic "Oscar Premere" theme banquet for the closing
awards ceremony.  During the banquet, the University announced a $200
college scholarship for each quizzer for each of 4 years of college.

There was plenty of quizzing, with competitions being held simultaneously in
47 locations in the church and across the college campus.  Many pictures of

as the co-directors of this event, and Paul Stackhouse was in charge of
statistical operations.

The book of Acts is the scheduled material for the coming season. Anyone
